ONE BAG AT A TIME

In honor of Earth Day (April 22nd) and Mother Earth we're making an effort to make this Saturday at the Little Italy Mercato a "no waste" event. The effort is minimal, but the results are great; having a healthier planet and reducing the need for plastic inside the market. Here's what you can do:

Bring your own shopping bags. Whether it's a canvas tote or a grocery bag or two you already have laying around the house, bring it with you. Need a reusable bag? Stop by the info booth and buy one of our very own insulated bags to keep your meats, cheeses and fish cold while you shop the day away.  If you're after bags of the non-insulated variety Re-Pac bags has you covered at the top of the market. We'll also have a "need a bag, take a bag" and "have a bag, give a bag" program going if you find yourself in need.

Grabbing your morning coffee - why not bring your travel mug to fill up instead of a disposable cup? Tupperware from home for your prepared to-go food items?

And to really sweeten the deal, when you bring your empty jam or pickle jars back to Really Good Jam or Happy Pantry they'll knock a $1 off for each on that days purchase.
